to the democratic party. how are you thinking of those going into next year? chris christie has pretty high approval ratings. i do not know if you think that will turn of democrats who want ran against him. also, what do you think of the race in virginia? >> less talk about the record so the viewing audience knows. there were 11 contested races for governor across the nation. democratic governors won eight of the 11. there were lots of stories about how democrats were going to lose. we won them. we won races that the press did not expect us to win. we won new hampshire. won in montana. he is going to do great things in the great state of montana. we won in washington state. he has been focused on economic development. we won there in a tight race. we come here with an association that is well organized and understand how to win even when we have less resources and our friends. having said that, none could 2014 -- in 2014 will be huge. in 2013 there too big races. we're very optimistic about virginia. we have an extraordinary candidates. he steadied his own business when he was 14 years old. he is th

cuomo a democrat and new jersey governor chris christie a republic originally told the white house they wanted $79 billion just for new york and new jersey. the white house instead asked congress for this $60.4 billion. the white house office of management and budget sent a letter to speaker of the house john boehner to say that this $60.4 billion would be, quote: funds necessary to finance a needed recovery effort and to help the region prepare for future challenges, including future storms, severe storms and coastal flooding as well as impact associated with a changing climate. governor cuomo and governor christie thanked president obama for all this money in a statement, this pledged money and the senators from their states chuck schumer, frank lautenberg, kristen gillibrand all democrats said this $60.4 billion is a good start but they acknowledged that congress has other things on its plate and this money is not all guaranteed. some members they think might push for some spending cuts to offset all this new spending. they said, quote: this is going to be a tough fight in the

for republican governors. we have chris christie in new jersey coming to mind. why is it that voters will go gop for the state house but not for the white house? >> well, think all politics are local, as you've heard said before. and i think there's interesting demographics based on the personality. it does not always follow that the trend of the state is what they'll pick for the executive branch. it depends on who's in opposition. you have a choice to be made between a and b. certainly chris christie i think presents a dynamic leader making reform and doing things that need to be done in new jersey. i mean they've had about 110 tax increases. he came in and said no more. that's a formula for failure. and he's in his own inimitable way said we're not going to do that anymore. i think people appreciate somebody who stands up and says it like it is and gets something done. and that's i think the example of new jersey. and in utah we are a very red state. it would be very difficult for a democrat to win here. we are very consecutive historically. and we've got good results. we've had a string of g
